Date:
Epsom & Ewell Borough Council is pleased to announce the return of its Epsom & Ewell Young Legends sports and creative activities programme for 9 to 11-year-olds living in the borough. Up to two activities per child are available, free of charge. Bookings open on 17 September 2026 and can be booked on the council’s website. Places are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Epsom & Ewell Young Legends programme provides children with opportunities to help boost their confidence, develop new skills, make friends, and ease the transition for those preparing for secondary school.
A diverse range of activities is available, including Basketball, Coding, Football, Girls’ Rugby, Judo, Musical Theatre (Song and Dance), Scrapbooking, Sing & Sign Choir and Tennis, alongside a dedicated Arts & Crafts session for children with special educational needs (SEN). Delivered by trusted and skilled professionals in a safe and supportive environment, the programme encourages children to try new things and have fun.
Councillor Clive Woodbridge, Chair of the Community & Wellbeing Committee, commented:
"We're excited to bring Young Legends back for a second year. Last year's positive feedback showed just how valuable these opportunities are for local young people, and we're delighted to offer another programme that helps children stay active, build confidence, develop new skills and make new friends."
"Supporting the mental and emotional wellbeing of our residents is a key aim of our Health and Wellbeing Strategy. Through Young Legends, we're helping children stay active, build confidence and connect with others, while working to make the programme accessible to as many young people as possible.
Whether you want to continue with an activity you enjoyed last year or try something completely new, I encourage parents, carers and children to explore the activities on offer and give an activity a try!
I'd also like to thank our local activity providers, for their invaluable support in delivering the Epsom & Ewell Young Legends programme."
